Sweden is Europe's Largest Mining Country

The mining and metal refining country of Sweden provides some of the raw material needed to support Europe's manufacturing industry. It also helps explain why Sweden is a wealthy country. The Nordic model welfare state, for which Sweden is known, is partly paid for with revenue from its rich iron, copper and precious metal mines the metal from which are refined in Swedish smelters.
